Alcan Cable hosts opening ceremony for its Tianjin aluminium alloy cable manufacturing plant

Alcan Cable, part of Alcan Engineered Products - a business unit of Rio Tinto - hosted a grand opening ceremony today for its recently commissioned aluminium alloy cable manufacturing facility located in Tianjin, People's Republic of China. Attending the ceremony were prominent Chinese government officials and Alcan Cable Management.

"This undoubtedly represents an important milestone for the development of the Chinese market for our STABILOY(R) products."

Guests attending the inaugural event included Huang Xing Guo and He Lifeng, officials of the City of Tianjin as well as Ian Hewett, President of Alcan Cable, Mr. Salamin and other members of the Alcan Cable senior management team.

The world-class Tianjin Plant is the first production facility wholly owned by Alcan Cable in China. This state-of-the-art manufacturing plant is located in the Tianjin Airport Industrial Park and manufactures the STABILOY(R) brand of aluminium alloy building wire for residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial power construction applications in the Chinese market.
