EWCS to close down its Hungary plant

Friday, Feb 13, 2009

It is reported that the Hungarian unit of Japan’s Euro Wire & Cable Services will shut down its plant in Tatabánya. The sharp decline in automotive industry related orders is reason for the decision to close the plant.

Mr Attila Zsigmond HR director of EWCS said that all 174 employees at the plant will be laid off in March and April 2009.

The Hungarian EWCS factory, a producer of wire harnesses and probe cables, has supplied the auto, entertainment and medical equipment industries since 1997.
